Description
The APC 15u (12U) is Welco’s 12-amp rated fan controller. It typically controls between 1 and 4 fans, though more can be connected depending on the total load applied to the unit. It is often used in smaller poultry sheds or pig units.
Each fan has its own on/off switch and a neon indicator to show which fans are powered. If a fan trips its individual breaker, the neon indicator will show that the fan is not powered, even if the switch is in the 'on' position.
The controller features a Welco Unicon Micro microcomputer, which, when linked to a temperature sensor within the controlled area, will automatically switch the fans on or off based on the set temperature range.
A manual override switch allows the fans to run at full power for extended periods when needed, before switching back to automatic mode.
An output dial regulates the fan speed, enabling slower operation to reduce temperature fluctuations on milder days. This helps extend the life of both the fans and the controller, preventing them from running at full capacity when it’s not necessary to maintain the desired temperature.
