MPC 4u Microcomputer Power Controller
Description
The MPC4U is a microcomputer-based controller that uses Welco's Unicon micro circuit board. It can be used for controlling either fans or heating and is rated for a maximum current load of 12 amps.
A neon indicator on the front of the unit shows when it is receiving mains power, and an override switch allows the user to switch from automatic mode to maximum power output. If the controller is to be used to run fans or heaters at full power for extended periods (such as most of the day), the override switch helps preserve the life of the controller by reducing unnecessary load on the circuit boards. The switch also enables the fans or heaters to operate at full power if an issue arises with one of the PCBs.
The Unicon microcontroller displays the following information:
Actual Temperature – The temperature currently being detected by the sensor in the shed.
Set Temperature – The target temperature that the unit is set to cool or heat to.
Minimum Output (%) – The minimum speed at which the fans will run, or the minimum output from the heaters.
Heat/Boost Offset 1 – [Description needed]
Heat/Boost Offset 2 – [Description needed]
Auto Freshen Cycle Time (min) – The interval (in minutes) between fan cycles during off periods when the target temperature has been reached. This feature helps to freshen the air and prevent it from becoming stale.
Auto Freshen Duration (min) – The length of time (in minutes) that the fans will run during the ‘on’ periods of the freshen cycle.
Settings can be selected and adjusted using the arrow buttons on the right.
